Betty L. Shepherd, 70, of Burket, Ind., passed away at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Ind.
She was born Feb. 13, 1943, in Meally, Ky., to James and Lucille (Rusher) Stambaugh. She married Douglas M. Shepherd who passed away in 1996.
She was a homemaker.
Betty is survived by a sister: Yvone McSurley, Kingsbury, Ind.; a brother: James Stambaugh, Kentucky; two grandchildren: Mandy Yeager and Christopher Yates; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Douglas M. Shepherd; a daughter: Beverly Wright; and a son: Timothy Shepherd.
Visitation will be from 3:30 p.. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Services will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Dan Cox. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery at a later date.
