Randall A. Chaplin
Randall A. Chaplin, 75, Warsaw, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at home in Warsaw, surrounded by his family.
Randy was born Nov. 27, 1946, in Argos, the son of (the late) John Henry Chaplin and Garnet Avenelle (Saygers) Chaplin. He graduated from Atwood High School with the Class of ’64 and went on to serve his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Randy retired from Northern Indiana Public Service Co. as a control room operator and was also a proud member of the United Steelworkers Local 12775. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 49 and the VFW James W. Sittler Post 1126.
Randy enjoyed camping, spending the summers in Welston, Mich.; he was an avid sports fan, especially Notre Dame football and NASCAR racing. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, tending to his yard and trying his luck with an occasional trip to the casinos. He truly cherished the time he spent with his family, and he loved watching his grandchildren grow into the wonderful adults they have become.

Clik here to view.Randy is survived by his wife, Kathy Chaplin, Warsaw; his daughter, Beth Ann Jungels, Warsaw; son, Dean Allen Chaplin, Warsaw; stepson, Christopher Andrew Gallion, Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren, Peyton Christopher Blayze Balazs and Tanner Weston Balazs, both of Warsaw and Brianna Alaina Chaplin, Burket; and his brother, Thomas Chaplin, Mishawaka.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jonel Houghton.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, in the Chapel at Oakwood Cemetery, 421 N. Maple Ave., with military honors. Terry Matzat will officiate the service. The family of Randy welcomes all who would like to attend.
